Welcome to the
San Francisco Lawn Bowling Club
A Living Legacy in Golden Gate Park Since 1901
Celebrating 125 years young!
Here's to 125 more years!
On a perfect San Francisco autumn Sunday (Oct 25th), we celebrated 125 years of sport, community, and tradition. More than 80 SFLBC members transformed our greens and clubhouse into a festive gathering, welcoming friends, city officials, media, and curious visitors of all ages to discover lawn bowling and the rich history of our Club.
We were honored to welcome SF Rec & Parks GM Sarah Madland and commissioners Joe Hallisy, and Vanita Louie, who presented SFLBC with a formal Proclamation recognizing our 125th Anniversary—and the celebration even made the news on KQED and ABC7 featured here.
None of it would have been possible without our incredible volunteers and 125th Anniversary Committee!
SFLBC recently took center stage on SFGovTV’s Get Out and Play! series!
Host Michael Baltazar and his team visited our historic greens to discover what makes lawn bowling such a wonderful sport and our club a special community. They made a sweet video to introduce more San Franciscans to the game we love. Watch the video, share it with your fellow bowlers, friends, and family who ask:
“What is LAWN BOWLING? Is it like BOCCE?”
